When we write, we sometimes draw on personal experiences or sometimes when writing other's characters we draw on other's writings.

For me, when I write Mara, I draw on Zahn's work, and also throw in my own background as a military brat.

When I write Han, I tend to think "what would my father say"? My father being said military Marine from a country (Corellian) background.

For Luke, I draw on the films, mostly the ROTJ scene. I like that lovely blend of bad-a$$ and farmboy.

What do you use to inspire you how to write your characters?

When I write Mara, I think that's me apart from sarcasm. Restless and impatient on one hand but an exact observer on the other hand.

For Luke, I think of my Tai Chi Master. He usually tells you stuff you don't understand, just like "Feel it" after I complained about some homework. Ever tried to feel your maths homework...?
